AI assistants (MCP): Relator in Claude and ChatGPT
Ask about your clients in Claude or ChatGPT and get Relator's numbers. See what the assistant can query, how to connect, the limits and how to revoke access.
Available on: Scale and Enterprise. On Starter and Pro, with the API and MCP add-on. Included in the free trial.Updated on October 14, 2026·5 min read
MCP (Model Context Protocol) connects Relator to outside AI assistants such as Claude and ChatGPT. Once connected, you ask in the assistant's chat, for example "how did Meta Ads spend for Downtown Store do in September vs. August?", and it fetches the numbers from Relator: the same ones as the Performance screen. Access is read-only.
Before you start
Plan: included on Scale and Enterprise. On Starter and Pro, it comes with the API and MCP add-on, under Settings › Plan and billing › Extra features. The free trial already includes it.
The section is in Settings › AI assistants, in the agency group (or the account group, for businesses). An individual account, with no organization, doesn't have it.
Who connects: an Owner, Admin or Member of the organization. Client users cannot connect.
Who enables and disables it: an Owner or Admin, once for the whole organization.
Questions asked in Claude or ChatGPT don't use RelatorAI messages. The assistant's own usage limits are set by its provider.
How to connect
1
Step 1
Enable MCP
In Settings › AI assistants, click Enable and confirm the data notice. Members see Ask an organization admin to enable it.
2
Step 2
Copy the server URL
With MCP on, the section shows the Server URL, https://api.relator.digital/mcp, with a Copy button. The URL is the same for the whole organization: each person's sign-in happens in Relator.

You go back to the assistant, already connected.
What the assistant can query
Relator gives the assistant five queries. You don't need to call them by name: just ask and the assistant picks the right one.
Clients
What it returns
The organization's clients, with each one's currency, time zone and connected sources.
Metrics
What it returns
Totals for one client, one source and one period, optionally broken down by day, week or month, by campaign (Meta Ads and Google Ads), by channel (GA4), by campaign type (Google Ads) or by page (Search Console).
Period comparison
What it returns
The same metrics across two periods, with the absolute and percent change. With no comparison period, it uses the preceding period of the same length.
Goals
What it returns
The client's active goals with target, current value, forecast and pace.
Data freshness
What it returns
When each of the client's sources last updated and the last day with data.

In Active access, click Revoke on the assistant's row. It loses access immediately.
Owners and Admins see and revoke the whole organization's access. Members see and revoke only the ones they connected.
Disable MCP cuts off every assistant on its next call. You can enable it again, but each person has to reconnect.
If the person leaves the organization or the plan no longer includes the feature, access stops on the next call.
Frequently asked questions
Does it work with assistants other than Claude and ChatGPT?
It works with MCP-compatible assistants that accept a custom connector with OAuth sign-in. The on-screen instructions cover Claude and ChatGPT.
Does the assistant see my RelatorAI conversations?
No. It only runs the five data queries described above. Relator conversations, reports and dashboards aren't sent.
Do the numbers match Relator?
Yes. The assistant reads the same data as the Performance screen, for the same client and period. Differences usually come from the requested period or the time zone.
What's the difference from RelatorAI?
RelatorAI runs inside Relator, uses AI credits and also builds dashboards and reports. MCP brings the numbers into the assistant you already use, for queries only.
